After the session
Our goal here is to leverage the session that you performed and make you a better online adviser/seller.
1. #1 tip you MUST use: send your client a summary including 3 simple sections: a) action items (= next steps) b) a short summary of the session and c) a thank-you remark. Do this after EVERY session or at least once a week. This is probably the hardest habit for many of us consultants to en-grain, especially when we provide consulting to repeated customers. However, you should make this habit a part of your daily routine as it would be an opportunity to demonstrate your professional consulting business and more important, it would also make you re-iterate the session and think one more time about ways to help your client.
2. Make sure to follow up within a week to ensure there are no further issues. While doing so, leverage the opportunity to gauge feedback from your client to improve your business.
3. Write a self feedback and answer these questions:
a) How can you improve your session with this client next time?
b) How can you leverage learning from this client to other clients?
c) What was the best moment in that session that you should repeat?
